Sticker Circuits

Georgetown Maker Lab
Learn about the different types of circuits that make our world work and how to make them using special stickers. We’ll also incorporate them into artwork. Registration suggested and will guarantee you a spot in the class. Maximum of 6 participants. From the Maker Lab Rules:
  1. Please arrive promptly. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, you will need to attend the next available class.
  2. No open footwear such as sandals or flip-flops.
  3. No loose or dangling scarves, jewelry, ribbons, or long hair.
  4. Parents of children under 12 must be present the entire time.

3D Printing for Beginners

Maker Lab

Learn to create and print a 3D object using STL format. Learn to use Tinkercad software and how to download files from Thingiverse as well as other 3D file warehouse repositories. Learn how to use our Makerbot 3D printer and print your own 3D object.

Registration:  Maximum of 7 participants.

Maker Lab Rules: 1. No open footwear such as sandals or flip-flops. 2. No loose or dangling scarves, jewelry, ribbons, or long hair. 3. Parents of children 8-17 must be present the entire time.

Retro Video Game Day

Come and get your game on! We will be playing a ton of different video games on systems ranging from the Atari VCS 2600 up through the original Nintendo Wii. A number of stations will be set up with different consoles, and hourly tournament events will take place on a big screen. This is an all ages event.

Open Maker Lab and Guide Assistance

Our lab will be open for you to work on projects.  Our maker lab guide will be able to assist you during that open lab time and dates.  Please following all maker lab rules such as being prepared and  following all safety procedures.  Children under the ages of 12 must be have an adult or legal guardian.  Appropriate attire and eye wear is required while using while operating tools and equipment in the maker lab.  Make sure you have been trained to use equipment.

Storytime on the Riverfront returns this summer!  Join librarians from the Allen County Public Library in this cooperative venture with Riverfront Fort Wayne as we enjoy children's books and songs along our majestic rivers. Storytime will take place each Monday at 10:30 am in June, July, and August (except Monday, July 16) in Lawton Park at the corner of Clinton and 4th Streets. In the event of bad weather, storytime will be held in Children's Services at the Main Library.
